The Central FM Awards – Teacher of The Year

The team at Old Plean Roofing are delighted to sponsor the Teacher of The Year honour at Central FM’s Local Hero Awards 2022.

The awards, which take place on Friday November 11, aim to recognise and reward community heroes across the Forth Valley.

Nominations are now open and people are being urged to vote for teachers who have made a real impact in the lives of local children.

They can also nominate NHS workers, voluntary groups, charities and individuals who have made an enormous difference to their communities in the various other categories.

Education has played – and continues to play – a key role in the lives of Old Plean Roofing founders Mark and Fiona Thornton and they are keen to recognise teachers who are ‘top of the class’ when it comes to their profession.

Fiona says: “My mum Retta was a teacher her whole life and Mark spent time working as a Training Manager with the Single Ply Roofing Association.

“We’re passionate about education and committed to life-long learning and we are keen to see our roofers – and roofers across the industry – continue to train throughout their careers and commit to the highest standards possible.

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Central FM Teacher of the Year Award and would urge anyone who knows a teacher who has gone above and beyond and made a real difference in the lives of their pupils to nominate them today.”

Submissions can be made here – Teacher of The Year Award with Old Plean Roofing – (centralfm.co.uk) – and nominations are open until midnight on Friday September 30.

Following the close of nominations, a judging panel will consider all the entries and select two finalists per category.

The finalists will be invited to attend the glitzy award ceremony at Airth Castle Hotel and Spa in November when the winners will be announced and celebrated for their outstanding contributions to local communities.

In addition to the Teacher of the Year Award, other categories include Child of Encouragement/Courage, NHS Hero, Emergency Services Hero, Best Business in the Community and the Make a Difference in the Community Award.
